Dr Karim Velji

I qualified as a dentist from the University of Manchester in 1983. Since then, and in partnership, we have established practices in three locations, including Barnet Dental Practice in 1996. I enjoy the challenge of managing dental practices and working alongside dedicated team members. In particular, it has been a privilege to treat my patients and develop a strong rapport with them over the years.
Outside of clinical dentistry I have been a long-standing member of the Local Dental Committee. I am married with two grown-up children and enjoy watching sport, playing golf, travelling, and exploring new cultures.
Dr Mansoor Esmail

When I am not working, I enjoy cycling, golfing, and doing voluntary work. I am also a keen Manchester United fan. I am married with three grown up daughters.
Nichola Parker

My name is Nichola and I have been the manager here at Barnet Dental Practice since 2005.
I joined the practice 16th September 1996 as a trainee dental nurse. I studied at college in the evening and passed the National exam for dental nurses gaining my qualification in July 1998.
I also have qualifications in Dental Radiography and Level 1 CBCT with the British Dental Association.
Outside of the practice, I love to travel and my favourite places have been Alaska and Bali. I also enjoy walking, cycling and a good film.

Outside of dentistry I enjoy travelling, reading graphic novels and am a keen sportsman. I’m married to a doctor and have two beautiful daughters.
Dr Samana Fazel

I qualified in 2009 and have been at Barnet Dental Practice since 2012. I enjoy getting to know my patients and working with them to meet their varied dental needs. My special interests lie in Oral Surgery and Implants.
I love keeping active and have a passion for football which I play regularly. I relish the outdoors and spending time in nature. This has led me towards taking up beekeeping.
Dr Nikhil Patel

I am passionate about providing my patients with the highest quality of care possible.
Having a real interest in cosmetic and implant dentistry led me to complete a Diploma in Implantology from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. I also enjoy providing Invisalign (clear braces) for my patients.
Outside of dentistry, I love playing and watching football, cooking (but more so eating!), and travelling.
Dr Alysha Velji

I practice general dentistry and I am also able to offer advanced treatments to help treat and stabilise gum disease, and help you keep your teeth for longer! As well as dentistry I have an interest in facial aesthetic treatments and offer anti-wrinkle treatments.
I have worked in Barnet Dental Practice since 2017, and having lived in Barnet most of my life it feels extra special to serve the community I was brought up in!
Dr Kayvan Kousari

I qualified from Kings College London in 2012, and have worked in Barnet Dental Practice since 2017.
I believe in providing high-quality preventative dentistry in a caring manner.
I also have a special interest in Endodontics having completed an MSc in this subject from Queen Mary University of London. Outside of work I am a keen sportsman playing football, badminton, golf, and snooker.
George Bryan
Dentist

George qualified from Bristol Dental School in 2019 and currently works part-time at the practice. Following graduation, he continued his training in a mixed (NHS and private) general dental practice in Yorkshire, before working in a private practice in Oxford. His particular interests are in restorative and cosmetic dentistry.
He then completed his Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, as well as graduating from the ‘Implant Success’ programme. Combing this training with being an Invisalign Go + provider, he enjoys replacing missing teeth with implants as well as straightening teeth to create aesthetic smile designs. He has undertaken many courses and teaching programmes in different aspects of dentistry, and strives to keep up to date with the latest evidence-based teaching.
Alongside general practice, he has also enjoyed voluntary work for the Teeth Team initiative, as well as the Special Olympics Screening Programme; reaffirming his belief in the importance of oral health education. He aspires to educate and provide ethical, high quality dentistry to all his patients.
In George’s spare time, he enjoys cycling and playing football for his local team.
Daniella Sanders

Daniella qualified from the University of Bristol in 2019 with a strong academic foundation and a passion for patient-centred care. Since graduating, she has built a reputation for her kind, empathetic approach, particularly when working with nervous or anxious patients. Daniella takes great pride in helping individuals feel comfortable and confident during their visits, and she strives to make every appointment a calm and positive experience.
She has a keen interest in aesthetic and cosmetic dentistry, with a particular focus on minimally invasive techniques to enhance her patients’ smiles. Daniella enjoys offering clear aligner treatments to straighten teeth discreetly and effectively, helping patients achieve their ideal smile without the need for traditional braces.
Outside of her professional life, Daniella enjoys running, and she is regularly signing up to different marathon or half marathon races.
Liyana Esmail

Liyana Esmail graduated from Bristol University, where she received the Wesleyan Assurance Society Prize for Communication. After graduation, she worked in a mixed (NHS and private) general dental practice in London and then went on to work in a hospital setting in Cardiff, where she developed her interest in Restorative and Paediatric dentistry. Following that, she spent years working in Oxford in a mixed practice.
Liyana has completed her Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal Colleague of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She has undertaken many courses and strives to keep up to date with the latest evidence-based dentistry. She has a particular interest in cosmetic and implant dentistry.
In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, going to the gym and scouting out for the best coffee shops!
Anca-Alexandra Cimpeanu

I’ve been working at Barnet Dental Practice since 2020. I qualified in 2022 as a Dental Nurse and I’m currently studying to get level 4 training in assisting in Implantology. I love cold weather and wintry showers. I enjoy my long walks and cooking with my beautiful daughter and an amazing husband.
Shenol Palmer

I qualified at the Eastman Dental Hospital in 1992. I have since worked in a variety of hygienist roles across London. I work well with children, older patients, and nervous patients, putting them at ease. I am very empathetic and caring towards my patients’ oral hygiene needs.
Outside of hygiene, I enjoy spending time with my children, travelling, and walking.
